To link your YouTube channel with Google Ads, it is easiest to have full admin access on both accounts. If you do not have full admin access on both accounts, you will need to work with the owner on either account to complete the process.

  1. When logged into Google Ads, click on the Tools icon in the top navigation. The select “Linked Accounts.”

2. When you’re in the Linked Accounts section, scroll down until you see the YouTube option. Click on “Details.”

3. Again, here is where Google mentions you must own the YouTube channel or know the person who does. Click on “Add Channel.”

4. Search for your YouTube channel and select it.

5. If you own the channel (and assuming it’s the same Google login), select “I own this channel.” Then click on “Go to YouTube.” You will then be taken to the YouTube settings where you can set up what you want the Google Ads account to be named in YouTube as well as permissions you set for the Google Ads account.

6. If you do not own the YouTube channel select, “Someone else owns this channel.” You will then have to type in the email address of the channel owner. That person will get a notification of your request and must approve the request otherwise you will not gain access.
